Day 11 Start of the FM church in Burundi

8/5/07 Saturday
Slept in a little today and then left to go back up country around 10:30am. We couldn’t leave any earlier because on Saturdays the roads are closed for fixing. We drove to Mweya where the Free Methodist church got started. We had lunch—chicken, rice, avocado, marrow beans, and guava at the house the Vibberts used to live in. We saw the church, a small graveyard, and used the outhouse hole. We saw the outside of the men’s and women’s clinics and then were able to go into the place where women give birth and saw a few of the babies. We also saw some of the buildings that had still not been repaired since the war. Barb was given a live rooster as a gift. We put in the back of the van.
